When I was at The Seed 2013 in NYC earlier this year (a Vegan Immersion event – see this post), I happened to come across some vegan cookies from Pipernilli – the Couture Cookie Company. At The Seed NYC, I met the charming and unassuming Owner and Founder – Sherrita Davis – of Pipernilli. For this Product Review, Pipernilli sent 7-8 flavors of their cookies.
Pipernilli cookies use fruits (bananas, strawberries, apples, cranberries), and vegetables (sweet potato, carrots), besides vegan chocolate and spices to bake their delicious cookies. Even though I was tasting Pipernilli cookies for the second time, I had to remind myself that these cookies are vegan and not loaded with butter or eggs. The cookies are very soft and chewy – must be the silky smooth eggless banana batter that goes into making these cookies, although some are made with sweet potato batter. Pipernilli cookies are dainty in size when compared to most cookies and yet these cookies leave you feeling light and with a very satisfied smile on your face as you chew every last crumb of the cookies. My favorite cookies were Cranberry Glitz (perfect for the holidays), Mocha Diva Rounds, Chocolate Jewels, 14 Karat cake and Pumpkin Spice. More about these flavors here.

Pipernilli is a Brooklyn based company that uses organic, fair trade ingredients to make its vegan cookies fresh every week and uses bio-degradable packaging too! Read more about Pipernilli here. What’s not to like about Pipernilli? They do not ship their vegan cookies worldwide yet 😦 . I had Pipernilli send cookies to my NYC address during my recent NY trip.
Pipernilli is hosting a Vegan Thanksgiving Desserts event in Brooklyn on November 24, 2013 to offer vegan and gluten-free desserts to-go!! More details here.
